This last year I’ve discovered Romanian food.

Every season has its own pleasures, however, sarmale, my favourite, I can eat any time of the year!




Sarmale is minced meat with rice wrapped with cabbage. However everyone has their own way to season it, to make the boullion, to put smoked meat in between the little sarmales. I love them !


Today, I was so happy as I was taught how to make them.


It was a beautiful, warm autumn day too, so we could be outside making the food.


I appreciate the lady taking the time showing me how to make the sarmales. We had fun. I could practise some Romanian too while making the food.





What goes well with  the sarmale is mamaliga (polenta) , chilis and sour cream.

We enjoyed the food outside.

What a joy.
