The Old Court Church, Biserica Curtes, also called the Old Princely Church, is the oldest church in Bucharest. Its building started in 1558 during the reign of Mircea Ciobanul (Prince Mircea the Shepherd) and was finished by his son in 1591.
It is placed in the beautiful Old Town and the church is like a small, serene, peaceful oasis in the midst of the busy city.
I passed the church Saturday afternoon.
I appreciate the orthodox churches for their beauty in ornament. I like coming to the orthodox church because they are, indeed, very vibrant places, if I can use a word like vibrant in this context. Young and old come. The traditions are alive.
Here are some pictures from Saturday afternoon.
