Romanian lessons

Violeta Ieremie is my Romanian teacher since yesterday. A Romanian friend of mine saw Violeta’s blog Scrie Bine, where she assists and inspires in linguistic matters, and thought Violeta would make a good teacher for me.

We met up at Piata Amzei yesterday and talked about the set up. I need to start all from scratch with the alphabet, numbers, pronunciation, weather, colours, how to order a coffee and so forth.

It is EXCITING to learn a new language.

I think it HELPS, in my curiosity to learn Romanian,  that I already speak French and that I  know some Spanish and Latin.

Right now I understand approximately 30-40 % of what people say and I try to read, silently, pretty much everything I see trying to make sense of the world around me here in Bucharest.

Join me in this linguistic trip !
